In 2007, our founder Jean-François Flechet brought a 120lb cast-iron waffle iron from his native Belgium to Cincinnati with one goal: to share the Liège waffles he grew up loving. These aren’t the “Belgian waffles” most Americans know. Our waffles begin with a slow-fermented dough—never batter—mixed with real Belgian pearl sugar that caramelizes into a golden, crunchy coating as it bakes.

The result? A dense, buttery, unforgettable waffle crafted the Belgian way.
The waffle that started it all at Findlay Market—and the one that continues the tradition today.
